Contrariwise, I prefer manual settings on most things to auto. Not always the best option: my iPhone kept showing the wrong time by seven minutes, I reset it to the correct time, but the next day it went back to being seven minutes fast. This went on for a week or so, the Apple Store couldn’t help even. It was only when I realised that the time on my iMac was also seven minutes fast that I connected the dots. When you synch your iPhone it synchs to the clock time on the Mac, even if you have chosen manual set in the iPhone time and date settings. So if you like your iPhone time to be fast you also need to set time on the Mac to manual.
